Our Places
There is no such thing as a wilderness – all land has been touched by human beings. Aboriginal people still live in the Blue Mountains region and continue to reflect on and express their history of and connection with this land.
A flower in bloom, a wind, the song of a bird are both the experience and enjoyment of this land, and the stimulus to express ourselves in art.
“In our Aboriginal languages there are specific words to describe personally and culturally significant places, our artworks give the audience a deeper understanding of our connections to this land.” The Blue Mountains Artist Group.
Our Faces
Our artistic expression is as unique, personal and connected to each of us as our own special faces with its particular range of responses and expressions.
In the telling of history the aim should be to place each player as unique, important, real and human. The history of art in one sense does that. Aboriginal art expression is a history with its own truth and is personally connected.
